The lawmaker representing Surulere 1 Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Fuad Kayode Laguda, has flagged off the 2026 edition of the Summer with FKL programme.
The flag-off ceremony, held at Government College Lagos, Surulere, attracted participants from various sections of the constituency.
The initiative, organised under the FKL Educational Support Programme, is an annual intervention held during the third term holiday to engage students in activities aimed at promoting their academic, social and moral development.
Speaking at the event, Laguda said the 2026 edition was designed to expose participants to language learning, vocational skills, moral development and sports.
He said the programme would feature training in foreign languages, including French and Portuguese, vocational education, moral instruction, as well as sporting activities such as volleyball and basketball, and would run for four weeks.
“This year’s edition is unique and different from previous editions. It will feature the learning of foreign languages (French and Portuguese), vocational training, moral development and sports, including volleyball and basketball.
“Our commitment is to prepare the coming generation for the future, considering the global nature of the world today,” he said.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to promoting educational development and creating opportunities for young people within the constituency.
