Stakeholders back Rep Fuad Laguda for second term

Major stakeholders in Surulere Constituency I of Lagos State have declared support for the re-election of the member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Fuad Kayode Laguda.

The endorsement was made during a stakeholders’ engagement hosted by the lawmaker, where he formally announced his intention to seek a second term in office.

Participants at the meeting included political leaders, councillors, local government executives, ward chairmen, as well as members of the Community Development Committee (CDC) and the Surulere Tradesmen and Artisans (STA).

Rep. Laguda succeeded Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila in February 2024, following Gbajabiamila’s appointment as Chief of Staff to the President.

Stakeholders at the event commended the lawmaker’s performance in the Green Chamber, noting his contributions to legislative duties, oversight functions, and constituency-focused initiatives, particularly in human capital development.

A former Lagos State Commissioner for Social Development, Hon. Agboola Dabiri, who moved the motion for the endorsement, urged stakeholders to support the lawmaker’s bid, citing the importance of continuity in representation for the constituency.
