Dan RicHeE to release new single ‘WAVE’, August 26

Nigerian recording artist and New Skool Ogene (NSO) founder, Dan RicHeE, has confirmed August 26 as the release date for his new single, WAVE, the lead offering from his forthcoming seven-track project, PAGES II.

The record marks the beginning of a new chapter for the independent artiste, whose New Skool Ogene initiative continues to explore indigenous culture through contemporary music.

PAGES II follows the artist’s earlier project, PAGES, and continues the development of New Skool Ogene through collaboration, bringing together artists from different musical backgrounds within the cultural sound system.

Opening with the traditional Igbo Oja, WAVE blends indigenous instrumentation with modern production, setting the tone for PAGES II and the cultural direction of the project.

Speaking on the choice of the single, Dan RicHeE said the song was intentionally selected to introduce listeners to the world of PAGES II.

“The Oja introduces listeners to the world of PAGES II from the very first note. It was important that the journey began with culture,” he said.

The official music video has already been completed ahead of the release and is expected to complement the single’s cultural identity through visuals that combine contemporary styling with traditional elements.

Following the release of WAVE, Dan RicHeE is expected to unveil PAGES II in September, continuing the development of New Skool Ogene through collaboration while advancing its vision of contemporary indigenous cultural expression.
