His achievement marks another milestone for Nigerian students in international academic competitions and highlights the growing recognition of the country’s academic talents globally.

Nigeria also secured victory in the prestigious Teams Challenge, where Nathan Udoesu, Oladayo Adeyemo of Standard Bearers School, and Nathan Sotunde of Great Bloomers School combined their skills to clinch the global title.

The team’s performance showcased strong collaboration, problem-solving ability and academic excellence on the international stage.

Several other Nigerian students also ranked among the Top 30 globally in their respective categories. They include:

Reacting to the results, the Regional Director of the Elizalde Mathematics Competition (EMC) Nigeria, Zack Elias, described the performance as a significant achievement for the country.

He said the students’ success demonstrated the potential of Nigerian learners and reflected the commitment of schools, parents and teachers towards academic excellence.

“The exceptional performance of our students reflects the immense potential that exists within Nigeria. Chad Molokwu’s emergence as the overall winner in his category, our Teams Challenge victory, and the outstanding performances of students who ranked among the Top 30 globally are a testament to the dedication of the students, the commitment of their schools, and the unwavering support of parents and teachers,” Elias said.

The International Partnerships Manager of Young Master Challenge, Emily Cowin, also congratulated the Nigerian finalists, noting their impressive participation at the global finals in London.

Cowin said about 100 talented students from Nigeria participated in the event through the Elizalde Mathematics Competition National Finalists programme.

She added that the finalists took part in academic activities, cultural experiences and educational excursions, including visits to Cambridge and King’s College.

She particularly congratulated Molokwu for achieving the highest overall result in his age category, describing it as a reflection of his dedication and academic excellence.
