The Senatorial Candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) for Oyo Central Senatorial District, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has appointed the Chairman of Egbeda Local Government Area and Oyo State ALGON Chairman, Hon. Sikiru Sanda, as Director-General of his senatorial campaign organisation.
The appointment was contained in a formal letter signed by Ajadi, who said the move was aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation and improving coordination of campaign activities across the 11 local government areas in the senatorial district.
According to the letter, Sanda will oversee campaign operations, coordinate local structures, and supervise the appointment of sub-directors at local government, ward and polling unit levels.
Ajadi said the decision was based on Sanda’s leadership experience, political background, and commitment to grassroots mobilisation within the APM.
He expressed confidence that the new campaign DG would add value to the party’s structure and enhance its reach at the grassroots.
Reacting to the appointment, Ajadi described Sanda as a seasoned grassroots politician whose experience in local government administration and his role in ALGON would strengthen the campaign.
“We are confident that Hon. Sikiru Sanda will bring his wealth of experience, organisational strength, and commitment to inclusive politics to bear in this assignment,” Ajadi said.
He added that the appointment marks a key step in building a strong campaign structure ahead of the election.
As DG, Sanda is expected to begin consultations with political stakeholders, community leaders and party structures across the senatorial district.
The development comes as political activities gradually gather momentum in Oyo Central, with stakeholders realigning ahead of future elections.
