Lagos backs AceRoyal Estates’ Downtown Project in Ibeju-Lekki

AceRoyal Estates has received the backing of the Lagos State Government for its Downtown Lagos project, a planned commercial city in Labour City, Ibeju-Lekki; adding significant weight to what is already shaping up to be a major development in the Lekki corridor.

For many observers, this support is a strong signal. It reflects not just approval, but belief in the role private developers like AceRoyal Estates are playing in shaping the future of Lagos.

Downtown Lagos is coming up in one of the most talked-about growth zones in Nigeria today, home to the Dangote Refinery and the Lekki Deep Sea Port, and widely seen as the next centre of commercial activity in the state.

Reacting to the development, the Founder of AceRoyal Estates, Dr Endurance Agonor, described the government’s backing as both encouraging and strategic.

“For us, this is about building something that truly matters, not just for today, but for the future of Lagos. The support from the Lagos State Government shows that we’re aligned with that bigger vision of growth, opportunity, and global relevance.”

The project was recently introduced to the market at a two-day launch event that drew a large crowd of realtors, investors, and industry players. Since then, interest has continued to build, with early buyers already taking positions.

More broadly, the development reflects a shift in how Lagos is growing; where government creates the enabling environment, and the private sector steps in to bring ambitious ideas to life.
