Renowned businessman and philanthropist, Charles Chima Chukwu, has been honoured with the Youth Empowerment and Community Development Leadership Award of Excellence by the Coalition of Nigerian Youth on Security and Safety Affairs.
The award was presented at the North-East Youth Multi-Stakeholders’ Security Summit held on April 2, 2026, in recognition of his contributions to youth development, entrepreneurship and humanitarian service.
CONYSSA said the honour was in acknowledgment of Chukwu’s sustained efforts in creating opportunities for young people, supporting vulnerable communities and promoting grassroots development across Nigeria.
A native of Okposi in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Chukwu was born on January 15, 1995. He began his education at Jehovah Shammah Nursery and Primary School, Ojo, before attending Kristal Secondary School, also in Ojo.
He later studied Accounting at Tansian University and furthered his academic pursuit in Economics at University of Nigeria Nsukka.
Chukwu is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Shiptanec Ventures Furniture Company and also serves as Vice President of GSP @ Horeb Constructions Limited, an engineering and construction firm.
Beyond his business interests, he is widely recognised for his philanthropic activities, particularly in Ebonyi and Lagos states. His interventions include road rehabilitation projects, borehole construction, installation of streetlights and community support initiatives aimed at improving living conditions.
He has also provided annual support to the less privileged, assisted orphanage homes in Iba Local Government Area of Lagos, and created employment opportunities for youths.
Beneficiaries and community members have described him as a committed humanitarian whose efforts continue to impact lives and inspire hope.
The recognition by CONYSSA further highlights Chukwu’s role as a business leader dedicated to community advancement and youth empowerment.
