The Integrity Group of Nigeria, also known as the Renewed Hope Agenda Ambassadors, has declared its unwavering support for Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
At a well-attended world press conference held on Monday at the group’s headquarters in Asaba, the Convener, Dr. Oke Idawene, congratulated Governor Oborevwori on his recent recognition with two national honours — Governor of the Year for Urban Renewal and Outstanding Governor of the Year by the Daily Independent Newspaper.
While describing the governorship race in the state as a “no contest,” he commended the First Lady, Dame Tobore Oborevwori, for her firm support of the governor’s administration.
He further described the 2027 elections as a “no-contest,” citing the governor’s performance in infrastructure and other social services across the state.
Idawene praised President Tinubu for what he described as deliberate efforts to empower state governments with increased funding to drive infrastructure development.
He noted that the administration’s projection of building a $1 trillion economy by 2030 remains achievable, describing it as “a work in progress.”
“We urge citizens to stay calm and not lose faith in the Tinubu-led government. Tinubu is like a doctor in the theatre; you cannot appraise him until he comes out successfully with the patient,” Idawene said.
The group, which has operated for three years as a self-funded grassroots movement backed by patriotic Nigerians, positioned itself as a key driver of good governance and civic mobilisation across the country.
Reaffirming its political stance, Idawene disclosed that the Integrity Group is fully committed to the re-election bids of both Governor Oborevwori and President Tinubu.
He announced an ambitious mobilisation target of 200,000 votes for the Delta State governor and 10 million votes nationwide for the president.
He also cautioned potential contenders in the 2027 Delta governorship race to reconsider their ambitions, insisting that Oborevwori’s performance has already secured widespread public support.
Highlighting achievements of the APC administration, the group pointed to a N3.3 trillion investment aimed at improving electricity supply following recent interventions in the power sector by President Tinubu.
It also commended the state government’s decision to increase doctors’ salaries to boost morale and reduce brain drain in the health sector, alongside the approval for the recruitment of 700 additional medical personnel to strengthen healthcare delivery.
An executive member of the group, Bolum Martins, reinforced the endorsement by outlining additional accomplishments of the Oborevwori’s administration.
These include the resolution of the minimum wage issue, consistent and timely payment of workers’ salaries, and the clearance of pension arrears owed to retirees.
He noted that with the removal of fuel subsidy, every state and local government in the country is able to pay salaries, fund projects, and meet other needs of citizens.
Addressing concerns raised by some stakeholders about Nigeria drifting towards a one-party system, the group’s Deputy National Media Director, Ufuoma Onovughakpo, dismissed such claims, stressing that Nigeria’s democratic space remains open and competitive, with all political parties free to participate in elections.
Onome Juliet Omene, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Mobilisation, also extended appreciation to the First Lady of Delta State, Tobore Oborevwori, for her humanitarian contributions through the You Matter Charity Foundation, noting that her initiatives have positively impacted vulnerable groups across the state.
The press conference concluded with a strong reaffirmation of the group’s commitment to the Renewed Hope and M.O.R.E Agenda, pledging to intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts to ensure victory for both leaders in the 2027 elections.
