…Party leaders, stakeholders rally support in Delta
OBIARUKU (DELTA STATE) — Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency have unanimously adopted Ossai Nicholas Ossai as the party’s sole candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election.
The adoption was announced at a well-attended stakeholders’ meeting held in Obiaruku on Monday, with party faithful drawn from the 30 wards of the constituency.
Party leaders said the decision reflected a broad consensus within the APC to present an experienced candidate capable of strengthening the constituency’s representation at the National Assembly.
In separate remarks, stakeholders described Ossai as a credible and competent choice, citing his experience as a former ranking member of the House of Representatives and his legislative track record.
They noted that his previous tenure was marked by constituency projects, lawmaking contributions, and advocacy for the development of Ndokwa/Ukwuani, expressing confidence that his return would enhance the area’s visibility and access to national opportunities.
The adoption motion was reportedly endorsed by ward leaders, youth groups, women organisations, and other stakeholders, who pledged support for his candidacy.
In his acceptance speech, Ossai thanked party leaders and constituents for the confidence reposed in him, promising inclusive representation and effective service.
“This overwhelming endorsement is both humbling and motivating. I remain committed to justifying this trust through effective representation, strategic engagement, and the delivery of tangible dividends of democracy,” he said.
He outlined priority areas to include infrastructure development, support for key institutions, and human capital empowerment initiatives across the constituency.
Ossai also called on party members to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in 2027, urging unity within the party ahead of the general elections.
The meeting ended with a call for cohesion among APC members to strengthen the party’s chances in the constituency and the state.
