The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has declared its support for Comrade Lucky Emonefe, the immediate past National President of the association, seeking election to represent Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

In a statement signed by its Vice President, National Affairs, Comrade Tenyo Digbopho, the student body stated that the endorsement reflects confidence in the aspirant’s leadership experience, commitment to youth empowerment, and dedication to advancing the interests of Nigerian students and young people.

According to NANS, the decision aligns with its broader objective of supporting leaders who have served with merit and have demonstrated capacity to deliver democratic dividends to the populace.

“While serving as the President of NANS, Comrade Lucky Emonefe was at the forefront of ensuring that the application process of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) became seamless and made sure that a student representative was appointed to the board of the fund.

“His leadership as President of NANS further reinforced the belief that student voices must always be present where critical decisions about their welfare and academic future are being made,” Digbopho posited.

The association called on stakeholders, particularly from the All Progressives Congress, to support his agenda as this will make the party gain more support from students in the 2027 general elections.

They also urged community leaders, youths, and constituents across the Ethiope Federal Constituency to rally behind the candidate, emphasizing that his leadership track record and engagement with the student movement make him well-positioned to represent the constituency effectively at the National Assembly.
