Professional Comedian and youth advocate Ekene Smith Adigwu has unveiled a new initiative, LAFF Supper, a comedy and talent discovery event aimed at empowering young creatives and giving emerging entertainers a platform to showcase their abilities.
The event, scheduled for April 6, 2026, which coincides with Easter Monday, will hold at the Trinity House Zion Centre on Trinity Avenue, off Water Corporation Road, Victoria Island.
LAFF Supper is a flagship project of the Ekene Smith Adigwu Youth Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to youth empowerment and talent discovery across Africa.
Speaking on the vision behind the initiative,Ekene Smith Adigwu explained that the programme goes beyond entertainment and is designed to identify, nurture and promote young talents within the comedy and creative industry.
According to him, the event is part of efforts to create opportunities for young people who possess talent but lack the platform to express themselves.
“Our mission is to create opportunities for young people who have the talent but lack the platform. LAFF Supper is one of the ways we are opening doors for the next generation of comedians and entertainers,” he said.
The foundation has built its reputation around initiatives that uplift young people, encourage creative expression and provide humanitarian support to vulnerable groups. Its programmes also extend to supporting widows, orphanages and other less-privileged communities.
Organisers say LAFF Supper will bring together families, comedy lovers and members of the creative community for an evening of laughter, inspiration and meaningful engagement. The event is also positioned as an Easter celebration that fosters community bonding while promoting positive social impact.
One of the highlights of the programme will be an Open Mic Comedy Challenge, which will provide aspiring comedians with the opportunity to perform before a live audience and industry stakeholders. The best-performing comedian of the night will receive a grand prize of ₦1 million.
Ekene Smith Adigwu noted that the competition reflects the foundation’s commitment to recognising excellence and encouraging young talents to pursue their dreams.
“We believe that talent deserves recognition and support. The ₦1 million prize is not just a reward, it’s a statement that creativity and courage to step on stage should be celebrated,” he added.
With preparations already underway, organisers say expectations are high for what promises to be a memorable and impactful gathering. Through LAFF Supper, Ekene Smith Adigwu and his foundation hope to inspire a new generation of entertainers while reinforcing the importance of giving back to society.
