Elder Ambakederimo comments on NDC formation in Bayelsa

Bayelsa

By Samuel Oyadongha, Yenagoa

Elder Joseph Ambakederimo, convener of the South South Reawakening Group (SSRG), has expressed his views on the recently formed Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), suggesting that the party may face challenges gaining widespread support in Bayelsa State and the Niger Delta.

At a press conference in Yenagoa on Wednesday, Ambakederimo stated that the NDC’s formation is linked to political ambitions in the Bayelsa West Senatorial District. He highlighted the importance of respecting established political arrangements between Sagbama and Ekeremor Local Governments, which have historically guided representation in the district.

Ambakederimo emphasized that political initiatives should focus on promoting governance and development in the state. He described the NDC as a smaller political party and encouraged collaboration among leaders to maintain peace and stability in Bayelsa.

He also advised that political actors support existing governance efforts and work towards the overall development of the state, urging all parties to prioritize constructive engagement over political rivalry.

The Elder’s comments reflect ongoing discussions about political developments in Bayelsa West as new parties emerge and the local political landscape evolves.
