Tetracore Energy Group (TEG), through its subsidiary Tetracore CNG Solutions Limited, has commissioned a 60,000 Standard Cubic Metres per Day (SCMD) Auto Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) facility in Ogere, Ogun State.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by traditional rulers, community leaders, industry stakeholders and invited guests. The project marks a significant milestone in the company’s investment in Nigeria’s clean energy infrastructure and its drive to expand access to compressed natural gas as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative fuel for transportation and industry.
Strategically located along the Lagos–Ibadan industrial corridor, the facility is designed to serve commercial transport operators, logistics fleets, manufacturers and other businesses within Ogun State and neighbouring regions. The project aims to reduce operating costs while supporting national emission reduction goals.
With an installed capacity of 60,000 SCMD, the station can fuel over 100 vehicles daily, improving availability and convenience for buses, trucks and other commercial CNG-powered vehicles. The project aligns with the Federal Government’s gas utilisation and energy transition agenda by promoting domestic gas adoption and reducing reliance on conventional fuels.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of Tetracore Energy Group described the facility as a strategic investment in infrastructure and community development.
“The commissioning of this Auto CNG facility represents our commitment to delivering practical energy solutions that power businesses, lower transportation costs and strengthen Nigeria’s energy security. This is critical infrastructure that supports cleaner mobility, industrial productivity and long-term economic growth,” he said.
The host community welcomed the development. The Ologere of Ogere, Oba James Obafemi Saliu (Kankanbiina II), said the project would bring development and employment opportunities to the area.
“This project brings development and opportunity to our people. We are pleased that Tetracore Energy Group chose Ogere for this important clean energy initiative,” he said.
Community leader Elder Anthony Oyegunle also noted that the facility would create jobs, stimulate commerce and contribute to the town’s growth.
Other traditional leaders who sent goodwill messages included High Chief Dr. Adeyiga Ositelu, the Olisu of Ogere; High Chief Muritadeen Ajadi, the Oluwo of Ogere; and High Chief Segun Adeniyi, the Asiwaju of Ogere.
The facility is equipped with advanced gas detection and monitoring systems, automated emergency shutdown mechanisms, fire suppression infrastructure and high-pressure protection systems, all managed in compliance with national and international safety standards.
Beyond energy supply, the project is expected to generate dozens of direct jobs in operations, engineering and administration, as well as over 100 indirect employment opportunities across logistics, maintenance and related services.
The Ogere Auto CNG facility is part of Tetracore Energy Group’s broader strategy to expand its gas distribution network nationwide, supplying compressed natural gas, piped natural gas, liquefied natural gas and gas-to-power solutions.
The company said it remains committed to supporting Nigeria’s industrialisation, environmental sustainability and long-term energy security through continued investment in scalable infrastructure and strategic partnerships.
