SFC Founder declares church funds intact since 2014

…Unveils Succession Plan

Lagos, Nigeria — The founder of SolutionFamily Church Worldwide (SFC), Dr. Christian Shola, has disclosed that the church’s official bank account has remained untouched since its establishment in 2014, describing the move as part of his commitment to transparency and accountability.

Speaking with journalists, the cleric said the ministry’s funds, which he noted run into millions of naira, have not recorded any withdrawals since inception. He encouraged members and the public to independently verify the claim with the bank.

“SFC Church account has not recorded any withdrawal since inception. The funds there run into millions. Members can go and verify themselves,” he stated.

The disclosure comes at a time of increased public scrutiny of financial practices within religious institutions across Nigeria.

Founded on June 1, 2014, at No. 26 Burma Road, Roselle Academy, Sabon-Gari, Kano State, the church began with eight worshippers, including Pastor Isaac Dako and gospel singer Bamidele. The ministry has since relocated its headquarters to Lagos and now describes itself as a global movement.

In a related development, Dr. Shola announced plans to name a successor as General Overseer, signalling his intention to step down from active pastoral leadership. He linked the transition to his anticipated ascension to the traditional throne of Atse-Oritsé of the Omatsola Royal House, Ile Atsemudiara, in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.

Addressing concerns about the traditional title, he explained that the throne is dedicated solely to the worship of the Supreme God and does not involve allegiance to orishá or other deities. According to him, “Oritsé” refers to the one Supreme God, and it is traditionally forbidden for an Atse to bow to or worship any deity.

He further noted that the stool is hereditary within the Atsé-Mudiará Royal lineage and cannot be obtained outside birthright. He added that his father, the Atwirené of the Omatsola Royal House, has bestowed upon him the title “Agbenekuyá,” signifying the chosen firstborn and custodian of royal authority.

Beyond his clerical and traditional roles, Dr. Shola is a Pan-African economic advocate. He serves as Chairman of the Board of SEMACO Group and PINNACLE Cooperation and is the author of AFRICURRENCY: The Path to Economic Integration in Africa and My Son, George Eyube.

As he prepares to relinquish day-to-day church leadership, he affirmed that his commitment to Christian service and economic development across Africa remains steadfast.

“All glory to the Almighty God. I am happy and very grateful to God for everything,” he said.

The church is expected to announce its incoming General Overseer in the coming months.
