Head, Association of Urhobo Mayoral Family Crown, AUMFC, Dr. Israel Agimor Eshanekpe, aka Akpodoro, has commended the leadership of the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, led by Elder Omeni Sobotie and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the successful conduct of the Progressives party’s Congress where new leaders emerged at the local government, wards and units emerged.

In a statement the Mayor issued on the sideline of a well attended stakeholders meeting in Abuja, Monday, he specifically congratulated Governor Oborevwori for bringing leadership to bear in the State Chapter of the APC noting that the broom party has never had it this good describing the conduct as one of the most peaceful, credible, transparent and mostly accepted congress in the annals of such election in the state.

His Worship noted that in the past, such election in a start-studded party in the oil-rich state were marred by serious irregularities, full scale violence and hostilities across the state but for the crop of leaders in the state such political anomalies now exists in the past.

Mayor Akpodoro called on disgruntled party men and women who have lost out at the polls to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship advising that “failure is success turned inside-out” as he appealed to the Governor whom he described as a statesman to accommodate all under the fold of his leadership saying “both losers and winners belong in the progressives family fold where the Governor is the father and leader of the party in our state.”

He further stated that the electorate have spoken by chosen their leaders at the level of the LGA and nobody should be allowed to truncate the product the of the successful election that brought the new party leaders into power saying, “Politicians most times like to protest, flex muscles within and outside party hierarchy but the Governor should be steadfast in defending democracy at that level. Governor Oborevwori shouldn’t allow serial election losers or those who in the past superintended over charades called election during their own time in the office as Governor to thwart the progress already made in the state chapter of APC.
“Today, they want to cry Abuja to remonstrate to the party leadership but their history is replete with election fraud of unimaginable magnitude – unfortunately such people are today pontificating over a credible and nicely Congress. At the polls we heard the voice of the people and we know the people who emerged winners.
“We shall work with them without let or hindrance. Governor Oborevwori should be allowed to work with the new party leaders in peace. Losers should sheath their sword and join hands to work with the Governor towards building a peaceful party in the region,” he stated, even as he called on citizens to support the Governor, whom he described silent achiever who has turned the state around for the better. He concluded: “We never had it this good. Our Governor has done marvelously well and that account for his popularity among the citizens making him a soft sell in the forthcoming 2027 electioneering campaigns.”
