The former Southeast Spokesperson to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Chairman of the Forum of Former Members of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Denge Josef Onoh, has praised the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Senator Azuta Mbata, saying his leadership has inspired hope among the Igbo since his emergence on January 10, 2025.

Onoh made the remarks during celebrations marking Mbata’s 66th birthday.

He said Mbata’s tenure has promoted unity among the Igbo people, both at home and in the Diaspora, fostered cultural pride, defended collective interests, and laid the groundwork for sustainable development.

“In a time when our voices need to be strong and united, your calm, visionary, and inclusive approach has become a beacon of progress for Ohanaeze Ndigbo and beyond. I join countless sons and daughters of Ani-igbo and well-wishers across the nation in sending you heartfelt felicitations and prayers for abundant blessings,” Onoh said.

On a personal note, Onoh recalled Mbata’s support in his early political journey, noting that in 1998, Mbata encouraged his aspirations during the PDP local government councilorship elections and was the first to provide financial support.

“As you celebrate your birthday today, we give thanks to Almighty God (Chukwu Okike Abiama) for preserving your life, granting you wisdom, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to service,” he said.

“From your distinguished years as a Senator representing Rivers East, through your exemplary leadership in public administration, to your historic emergence as the 13th President-General of our revered Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, you have consistently demonstrated statesmanship, integrity, and a deep love for Ndigbo.

“May this new year of your life bring renewed strength and good health to continue steering Ohanaeze with grace and courage; greater wisdom to navigate the challenges facing Ndigbo in Nigeria and beyond; overflowing joy in your family, peace in your heart, and fulfillment in all your endeavors.”

Onoh also prayed for divine protection, prosperity, and breakthroughs for Mbata and all who look up to his leadership, asking that Alaigbo continue to rise under his watch, with unity, equity, justice, and progress as a shared inheritance.
