S/East digital media summit aimed at capacity building – Imo govt

Imo State government has declared that the forthcoming South East Progressive Digital Media Summit is aimed at achieving capacity building and national integration.

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Electronic and Creative Media, Ambrose Nwaogwugwu and coordinator of the summit, stated this during a press briefing in Owerri, Imo State on Monday.

Nwaogwugwu said the summit scheduled for Wednesday, February 11 and Thursday, February 12, 2026, in Owerri, will deepen participation in governance and enhance national integration.

He noted that the theme of the summit will be: “The Critical Role of Digital Media in Enhancing National Integration of the South East”

He stated: “The regional summit is designed as a replication at the zonal level and strategic platform to strengthen digital media engagement, promote responsible communication, and deepen progressive participation in governance and nation-building across the South East.

“The summit will be declared open by His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State. , and will be graced by APC Governors of the South East, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, members of the Federal Executive Council from the South East, party leaders, and other distinguished national figures.

“With over 1,000 participants, including journalists, bloggers, content creators, new media aides, policymakers, and industry leaders, the summit will focus on emerging digital trends and the role of new media in advancing national growth, democratic values, the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the agenda of the Progressive Governors in the South East”.
