Eti-Osa Heritage Organisation has organised a Special Prayer for their founding President, Barrister, Sanni Adewale, popularly called, Mabokunrinje whose tragic death occurred exactly one year ago with slot of encomiums from various prominent indigenes.
The Special Prayer was held in Igbo-Efon Central Mosque Eti-Osa Lagos State and officiated by Eti-Osa Council of Imams and Alfas led by its eminent Chairman, Sheikh Imam Barri Yusuf.
Mabokunrinje was the Pioneer President of the Eti-Osa Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA.
He was equally a former Secretary of Eti-Osa Local Government Council when the LGA Headquarters was at Glover Ikoyi.
The special Firdau Prayer was also attended by other prominent members of the Council such as the Secretary and Mufasiru, Eti-Osa Council of Imams and Alfas.
At the event, the council offered prayers for late ex-scribe and prayed for his soul to rest in the bosom of Allah.
Prominent individuals at the 1 Year Remembrance included: the Vice Chairman of Eti-Osa Local Government, Idowu Badru, Justice Rosul Olukolu, retired AIG Olukolu, Tajudeen Olukolu, Baale Igbo-Efon, Dr. Waziri Adisa, President, Eti-Osa Heritage Organisation, Mr. A. Akinlolu, Education Secretary, Eti-Osa Local Government.
Others were: Mustapha Okunmoyinbo Baale Alasia, Barrister Saheed Sanni, Vice Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Habibat Kotun, Mr. Lawal Fatai (Public Relations Officer, PRO, Heritage, Mr. Idris Adelakun, Dr. Ahmed Kotun, Chairman of the event.
The prayer equally attracted several Imams from Eti-Osa among whom were: Imams of Igbo-Efon Central Mosque, Badore Central Mosque, Okera-nla Central Mosque, Mayeigun Central Mosque, Fowewe Central Mosque Okera Kekere and others too numerous to mention.
The late Mabokunrinje was described as a hero of Eti-Osa who committed his time and legal expertise for the development of Eti-Osa.
The President of Eti-Osa Heritage Organisation, Adisa who spoke on behalf of the organisation, thanked all the members of the Organisation, the council of Imams and Alfas of Eti-Osa and all the elders in Eti-Osa for standing behind them after the tragic loss of their President in December, 2024.
He, expressed the organisation’s appreciation to the immediate past Chairmen of Eti-Osa Local Government and Eti-Osa East LCDA, Saheed Bankole and John Campus who named two major projects in the name of Sanni.
Adisa noted that history will not forget them for taking the decisions on behalf of the people.
The President disclosed that the organisation has registered a Foundation for the late Barrister Sanni and is resolute in immortalising him further promising that Eti-Osa Heritage Organisation will in May, 2026 unveil an iconic book in honour of the deceased member.
Special prayers were later offered to remember late Ibrahim Bakare, late Mr. Semiu Abdul Azeez (Alfa Semiu), late Eshinokun and all young people who were members of Eti-Osa Intellectual Group before it transformed to Eti-Osa Heritage Organisation.
