Ogbomoso Youths in North America (OYNA) has unveiled the Ogbomoso Tech Programme 2025, a digital empowerment initiative designed to equip young people from Ogbomosoland with essential skills in software development and problem-solving.
The eight-week intensive training seeks to nurture aspiring tech creators aged 18 to 35, offering them the foundational knowledge to meet global standards and contribute to the advancement of their community — in the spirit of “Fun itesiwaju ile wa” (for the progress of our homeland).
According to OYNA, the programme will provide participants with hands-on experience in software product development, preparing them to design and implement innovative technological solutions. Exceptional graduates will receive sponsorship for an advanced mentorship opportunity with industry professionals, paving a clear path toward tech-driven careers.
“We are thrilled to offer this opportunity to the bright and ambitious youths of Ogbomosoland,” a spokesperson for OYNA said. “This programme is more than just training; it’s a platform for young creators to develop tangible solutions to real challenges within their communities. By investing in their software development skills, we are investing in a technologically advanced and prosperous future for Ogbomosoland.”
To qualify, applicants must be indigenes of Ogbomosoland, aged between 18 and 35, and possess at least an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE). Those with higher qualifications such as HNDs or Bachelor’s degrees are also encouraged to apply. Intermediate computer proficiency is required, particularly in Windows, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
Applicants are to submit a résumé, cover letter, and a statement of purpose (300–500 words) detailing their passion for technology and a community challenge they hope to address using software solutions. Supporting documents such as academic certificates, government-issued IDs, and optional portfolios of previous projects are also to be provided.
The deadline for applications is November 23, 2025, after which shortlisted candidates may be invited for interviews before final selection.
