Most content creators lack basic interviewing skills — Kehinde Ajose

Kehinde Ajose, a visibility strategist and host of the podcast Conversations with Kenni, has called on Nigerian creators to hone their interviewing skills if they want to stand out in today’s rapidly evolving digital media landscape.

Ajose made this known while announcing the release of his new YouTube Masterclass on “Interviewing High-Profile Celebrities.” The training, he explained, is designed to help creators, podcasters, and on-air personalities conduct interviews that attract star guests and sustain audience engagement.

“Most content creators lack basic interviewing skills,” Ajose said. “They have the passion, but not always the preparation or professionalism required to make an interview memorable. This masterclass provides a roadmap for asking the right questions, managing on-camera energy, and building credibility with high-profile guests.”

Ajose, who is also an author, has interviewed some of Africa’s biggest entertainment names, including Kizz Daniel, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Funke Akindele, Simi, Timini Egbuson, Seyi Shay, and several others. Drawing from these experiences, he said the course blends storytelling insight, media ethics, and practical entertainment industry know-how.

He explained that the training helps creators frame questions that reveal the depth and humanity of their guests, rather than relying on predictable soundbites.

“The quality of your questions determines the quality of your audience,” he noted. “In a time when everyone has access to a camera, what sets you apart is skill.”

He also emphasized that Nigeria’s creator economy is growing rapidly, and creators who want to be taken seriously must embrace professionalism and storytelling depth.
