IE University reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its presence in Nigeria’s professional landscape by hosting senior alumni and prospective candidates to an exclusive cocktail event, A Taste of IE, on Tuesday, November 25.
Organised as a close-knit evening of conversation, reflection and professional exchange, the event brought together executives from diverse industries, underscoring the expanding presence and influence of IE graduates in the country.
The event further showcased the university’s efforts to build a strong and influential alumni network in Nigeria, positioning graduates to shape leadership conversations and drive meaningful impact across Africa.
Speaking on the growing engagement of alumni across West Africa, Director of Global Markets, West Africa, Kachi Eke, said the vibrancy of the Nigerian network reflected the dynamism of the country’s workforce.
According to Eke, “The rising engagement of our Nigerian alumni speaks volumes about the cohesion, pride and influence of the IE community in West Africa. Nigeria has one of the most dynamic professional landscapes on the continent, and our alumni are right at the heart of it.
The Director added that the willingness of graduates to remain connected and champion the institution demonstrates the strength and relevance of the IE network.
Describing the moment as a pivotal one for Nigerian professionals striving for global competitiveness, Eke noted that the region is undergoing rapid technological, economic and social transformation.
“IE University equips leaders with the global exposure, entrepreneurial mindset and practical skills needed to navigate this shifting landscape,” Eke said.
A major feature of the evening was a panel conversation moderated by Eniola Falana, alumna of the Full-Time Customer Experience Programme.
The session featured three IE professionals: Marketing Director at GB Foods and Global Executive MBA alumna, Oreoluwa Atinmo; Financial Controller at Microsoft and Executive MBA alumna, Aramide Balogun; and Chief Technical Officer at Monserrado and current Global Executive MBA student, Oladotun Andre Olajide.
The panellists shared experiences about their time at IE, the motivation behind pursuing an MBA, and the impact of the programme on their career paths.
The panelists highlighted the institution’s emphasis on leadership, innovation and global exposure through insights delivered with a blend of humour, reflection and practical advice.
The evening unfolded with open networking and cocktails, as attendees engaged in discussions on leadership, career transitions and emerging opportunities in Nigeria’s rapidly evolving economic and technological landscape. Reinforcing the strength of professional networks, each executive was invited to bring two colleagues they considered strong candidates for an IE MBA, a peer-driven approach that broadened engagement and offered prospective participants an inside look at the university’s community-focused culture.
