Tech innovation for personal, community safety unveiled

As insecurity and poor community coordination continue to challenge urban living across Nigeria, technology company Limestone, has unveiled StoneCircle, a digital solution designed to make personal and community safety more accessible, reliable, and data-driven.

The product launch in Lagos marks a major step in Limestone’s effort to bridge the gap between traditional estate management systems and the urgent need for real-time security communication tools.

Described as a “safety lifeline for modern living,” StoneCircle allows users to send location-based panic alerts, share live video incident reports, and connect instantly with trusted contacts during emergencies.

Chief Executive Officer of Limestone, Mr. Ifeanyi Aneke, said the product was born out of a deep understanding of the everyday safety concerns faced by Nigerians.

He said: “StoneCircle comes at a critical time when the need for accessible, reliable safety solutions in Nigeria has never been greater. We’re proud to deliver a product that not only connects people to help in real time but also redefines how individuals and communities protect lives and properties.”

According to him, the innovation reflects Limestone’s belief that safety should not depend on luck or location, but on the ability of communities to stay connected and informed.

“We’ve seen too many situations where people could have been helped faster if communication and coordination were better. StoneCircle is our way of fixing that gap, it’s technology built from empathy, not just innovation,” Aneke explained.

He noted that StoneCircle sits within Limestone’s growing ecosystem that includes Stone Community, a management platform for estates and developers—and Stone Security, which provides enterprise-grade monitoring hardware for institutions and high-value properties.

“Together, these platforms form a unified operating system that simplifies estate operations while enhancing community-wide safety and accountability,” he added.

In pilot estates across Lagos and Abuja, StoneCircle has already driven over N27 million in digital payment adoption, achieved a 95 percent transaction success rate, and recorded a panic-to-acknowledge response time of just three seconds. Aneke described these figures as “proof that Nigerian-built technology can compete globally in reliability and user experience.”

For residents in gated communities, StoneCircle also offers tools beyond security. Users can pay estate dues, manage access codes, buy electricity, and submit complaints — all within one mobile app.

According to the company, this integrated system reduces revenue leakages, improves transparency, and enhances communication between residents and estate managers.

Reaffirming Limestone’s broader mission, Aneke said: “Limestone is committed to transforming how people experience safety, communication, and daily living within their communities. With StoneCircle and our broader suite of products, we’re delivering practical, locally relevant technology that simplifies daily routines and strengthens trust within neighborhoods.”

He also assured users of strong data protection measures.

“We operate fully under Nigeria’s Data Protection Act, and all user data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Our chats are end-to-end encrypted, and the platform undergoes independent third-party testing to maintain trust and compliance,” he said.

With StoneCircle, Limestone hopes to usher in a future where Nigerians feel safer within their homes and communities through technology that reflects local realities.

Aneke noted: “Peace of mind shouldn’t be a luxury in Nigeria. It should be a standard, and that’s exactly what we’re building.”
