A member of Ogun State House of Assembly, representing Ifo II State Constituency, Fatiu Fola Salami, at the weekend laid the foundation for a new police station in Oke-Aro, Ifo local government area of the state, as part of efforts to address rising security concerns and improve public infrastructure in the area.
Salami, also unveiled a string of other developmental projects across the constituency.
Speaking at the foundation laying ceremony, the lawmaker said, the police station project, situated in the rapidly growing community of Oke-Aro, represented a strategic response to the rising population and increasing security concerns in the area.
He added that with Oke-Aro serving as a residential and commercial hub for over 50,000 people, the absence of a dedicated police structure had long left residents vulnerable to insecurity, adding that his intervention fills the critical gap, aiming to deter crime, foster quicker emergency response, and build public confidence in law enforcement.

Also, a newly completed 40-meter drainage and erosion control project to safeguard the station’s foundation was also unveiled.
