Amid the sudden rise in cases of incessant same-sex practice in Edo State, the Edo State Command of the Nigerian Police has declared 2 bisexual suspects wanted after they narrowly escaped arrest on 15th May 2025.

The Command, while warning members of the general public particularly youths to shun the sacrilegious act of same-sex practice or risk 14 years imprisonment, added that the 2 bisexual women narrowly escaped arrest shortly after they were nabbed in the illicit act.

A statement made available by the Command to journalists in Benin City stated that the 2 fleeing bisexual suspects, namely Mrs.Izide Blessing and John Grace were reportedly caughtt in the act of same-sex practice on 15th May 2025 at no.2 Ughagbie Street off St. Saviour Road Benin City shortly after a colleague of Mr.Izide Joel Omhunria (Blessing’s Husband) stopped by at their residence to check up on her husband while he was away.

However, it was gathered that the prompt arrival of her husband, Izide Joel Omhunria who was immediately called upon by his wife, was said to have reportedly doused the heated tension as her husband was said to have allegedly taken both women away into hiding before the arrival of the police to prevent them from being arrested.

Meanwhile, our correspondent was reliably informed that the mother of 3 children had secretly being dating her lover from their teenage years while in secondary school till 2016 when they were separated only to be reunited in December 2023.

It was further gathered that angry youths in the community immediately. besieged the family residence of Izide Blessing shortly after she however managed to escape arrest with her partner but were immediately prevented from setting the building ablaze by policemen on standby who fired canisters of teargas to disperse the crowd.

The police statement, which further stated that both Mrs.Izide Blessing and John Grace have been declared wanted by the Edo State Command of the Nigerian Police, urged members of the general public with any useful information on the whereabouts of the 2 fleeing bisexual women to report at any nearby police station or the criminal investigation department of the Edo State Command of the Nigerian Police for immediate arrest and prosecution of the 2 fleeing bisexual suspects.

Meanwhile, our correspondent was reliably informed that Izide Joel Omhunria later honoured a police invitation to report at the station where he was said to have admitted that he was fully aware of his wife’s secret bisexual lifestyle in the past .

He was also said to have strongly debunked allegations of taking the 2 bisexual suspects into hiding after they were reportedly nabbed in the act on May 15th adding that at the moment the whereabouts of his wife and her partner remained unknown to him.

In Nigeria, the gross violation of the Same-sex Marriage Prohibition Act of 2014 attracts a minimum of 14 years imprisonment if convicted.
