In a decisive step toward strengthening regional economic ties, Chairman of Ailes Group, Chief Dr. Michael Onuoha, held high-level talks with the Prime Minister of Sao Tome & Principe, Mr. Américo d’Oliveira dos Ramos, to explore strategic collaborations in energy and infrastructure, two critical sectors for the island nation’s development and West Africa’s integration.

The meeting, which took place in Sao Tome, centered on opportunities for Ailes Group to support national projects aimed at improving energy access, infrastructure modernization, and industrial growth. It also signals the company’s formal entry into Sao Tome & Principe as part of a wider West African expansion strategy.

Speaking on the engagement, Prime Minister dos Ramos said: “This partnership has the potential to significantly enhance our development capacity, particularly in the areas of energy and infrastructure.”

“We welcome Ailes Group’s interest and expertise as we work to unlock the full potential of our economy and position Sao Tome as a hub for regional cooperation.”

Ailes Group, one of Africa’s leading conglomerates with operations in oil and gas, construction, logistics, and agribusiness, is seeking to establish operational bases in strategic countries across the Gulf of Guinea. The group is headquartered in Nigeria and has built a reputation for delivering complex projects across Africa.

The discussions come at a time when Sao Tome & Principe is actively courting foreign investment to diversify its economy and boost maritime trade. The nation’s proximity to key shipping lanes and emerging oil fields in the Gulf of Guinea makes it a strategic location for companies seeking to expand across West and Central Africa.

Describing the meeting as a milestone, Chief Dr. Michael Onuoha, stated that “Our engagement with Sao Tome & Principe is part of a long-term vision to foster inclusive economic development through collaboration.

We are not just investing in infrastructure, we are investing in people, in possibilities, and in Africa’s shared future.”

If finalized, the partnership could see Ailes Group deliver critical infrastructure and energy solutions, including power generation systems, port development, and road construction, while also exploring opportunities in agriculture and logistics.

As Ailes Group continues to position itself as a pan-African industrial leader, this latest diplomatic engagement reinforces its role in driving regional integration, sustainable development, and economic empowerment across the continent.
