Collins Imonlemen, Founder and CEO of Vergio Tech Innovations Africa, is on a mission to redefine high-performance computing across the continent. After years of building some of Nigeria’s most advanced custom PCs and technology solutions, Vergio is now expanding its operations to Ghana and other African countries, signaling a major step forward in its commitment to innovation and accessibility.
“We’re building computers, and also creating solutions tailored to Africa’s needs,” Imonlemen said. “Our goal is to empower businesses, gamers, content creators, and professionals with cutting-edge technology that rivals anything available globally.”
Originally launched as Vergio Nigeria Enterprise in 2017, the company started with a simple yet ambitious vision — delivering high-performance custom-built computing systems for individuals and businesses.
Over the years, it has grown into one of Nigeria’s most recognized tech brands, working with high-profile clients such as the Nigerian Air Force, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and notable entertainment personalities.
In 2024, the company rebranded as Vergio Tech Innovations Africa, reflecting its broader ambition of serving the continent with next-level technology. The decision to expand was driven by growing demand across Africa for locally built, high-performance computing systems that cater to the unique needs of businesses, research institutions, and creative industries.
Africa’s tech industry is growing rapidly, but much of the hardware used in businesses and creative sectors is still imported at high costs. Imonlemen believes this presents an opportunity for African innovators to create homegrown solutions.
“There’s a misconception that world-class technology can only come from Europe, America, or Asia,” he said. “We’re here to prove that Africa has the talent, the knowledge, and the drive to compete on a global scale.
”The expansion will start with Ghana, a country experiencing a tech boom, particularly in gaming, digital content creation, and fintech. Vergio aims to establish a physical presence and an online distribution network, ensuring that businesses and individuals in Ghana and beyond can access its high-performance systems without the logistical and financial barriers of international imports.
“With a growing presence in Africa, Vergio is not stopping at computers. The company is also exploring collaborations with universities, research institutions, and government agencies to develop AI-driven systems, simulation technology, and advanced computing solutions.
“We’re not just here to sell products—we’re here to build an ecosystem,” Imonlemen emphasized.
“Our vision is to see Africa at the forefront of tech innovation, not just as consumers but as creators. African-built technology is no longer just an idea—it’s a reality in the making with Vergio Tech Innovations Africa at the forefront.”
