LAGOS — The Lagos Leadership Summit (LLS) 2025 is set to return with a bold vision for redefining leadership through inclusivity, adaptability, and responsive governance. Scheduled for April 16th and 17th, 2025, the summit will take place at Konga Place, Oba Elegushi Beach Road, Lekki, Lagos, bringing together policymakers, business executives, and young visionaries to explore the theme: “Transformative Leadership: Developing Responsive, Adaptive, and Inclusive Models.”
Organized by the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) in partnership with the Lagos State Government, this highly anticipated event is designed to inspire, empower, and connect the next generation of visionary leaders.
The maiden edition of the Lagos Leadership Summit in 2024 was a major success, attracting over 5,000 participants from government, business, education, and technology sectors. It fostered insightful dialogues and knowledge-sharing sessions that have since led to impactful initiatives across Nigeria.
Building on that momentum, Lagos Leadership Summit 2025 promises to deliver an even more dynamic experience with: Exclusive roundtable discussions, Fireside chats, Masterclasses and workshops, Thematic keynote speeches and High-level networking opportunities.
With an audience of policymakers, industry executives, and emerging leaders, the summit aims to tackle pressing leadership challenges and co-create actionable solutions for a more inclusive and sustainable society.
Lagos State Governor and Chief Host, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, emphasized the significance of the summit, stating:
“The 2025 Lagos Leadership Summit is a pivotal platform for nurturing transformative leadership and fostering inclusive models that drive sustainable development. As Lagos continues to position itself as a beacon of innovation and progress, this summit presents an opportunity to harness collective wisdom and empower the next generation of leaders to champion positive change in our communities.”
Similarly, Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade, Executive Secretary of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy, described the summit as:
“More than just a gathering—it is a golden opportunity to be part of a defining moment in leadership. It offers a platform to learn, unlearn, and relearn ideas that challenge the status quo, drive innovative solutions, and foster meaningful connections that build lifelong alliances.”
A major highlight of the Lagos Leadership Summit 2025 is the prestigious Lagos State Governor’s Award for Social Impact, which recognizes individuals making tangible differences in their communities.
The award celebrates innovators and change-makers driving progress in key sectors such as: Education, Healthcare, Environmental sustainability and Gender equity.
In 2024, the Governor’s Award for Social Impact honored Tunde Onakoya, Founder of Chess in Slums Africa, and Abosede George-Ogan, Founder of Women in Leadership Advancement Network (WILAN), for their contributions to social transformation in Nigeria.
For the first time, public nominations for the 2025 Governor’s Award for Social Impact are open, allowing citizens to spotlight individuals who are making real, measurable change in their communities.
The summit registration portal is now open, and attendees are encouraged to secure their spots early, as attendance is expected to exceed last year’s turnout.
Members of the public are also invited to submit nominations for the Governor’s Award for Social Impact, recognizing deserving individuals who continue to advance impactful leadership in Lagos State.
