Temitope Bolade Akinbode and Diche Enunwa
For far too long, women have been told to play it safe—to color within the lines, to avoid risks, to shrink themselves so they don’t take up too much space. But not anymore. Not in 2025. This International Women’s Day, we are called to Accelerate Action—to push forward, break barriers, and redefine what’s possible.
Temitope Bolade Akinbode and Diche Enunwa, the powerhouse duo behind Writers Ink Concepts, are great representation of these qualities.
They didn’t just start a business; they built a movement. As one of the first female-led screenwriting duos in Nollywood, they have crafted some of the industry’s most iconic films and shows, proving time and time again that women belong in leadership, in storytelling, and in the driver’s seat of their own destinies.
It’s therefore no surprise that they were awarded by Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, in partnership with EbonyLife Place, and Nigerian International Film Summit (NIFS) for their contributions to the Nigerian film industry, making them recipients of Eko Star Awards.
The Power of Collaboration
Speaking with the duo, Tope recounts, “Many people did not believe this partnership would last. “Women working together? That’s a disaster waiting to happen,” some said. We’ll fall out. We’ll compete. We’ll fail, but here we are, ten years strong, standing as proof that collaboration, not competition, is the key to unstoppable success.”
They have not only endured but evolved—expanding from writers to producers, directors, and casting agents. Their filmography is stacked with over 100 screenwriting credits, including hits like Mama Drama, Namaste Wahala, On The Edge, Fine Wine, When Love Happens, Before Valentine, Cold Feet, Inline, Sanitation Day,The Johnsons, and Just Us Girls.
What these ladies have done is create a space—not just for themselves, but for the next generation of storytellers.
Through workshops, masterclasses, and mentorship, Writers Ink is actively raising the next generation of screenwriters and filmmakers through their screenwriting classes tagged The Writers’ Room, showing young filmmakers, especially women, that their stories are worth telling and their dreams are worth chasing.
Accelerate Action: Why Now Is the Time
‘If we wait for permission, we’ll be waiting forever. Women can no longer afford to sit on the sidelines of success. Every woman carries within her the ability to conceive, create, and build something extraordinary—whether in business, film, tech, fashion, or any other industry. The question is: will you answer that call?’ says Diche.
Temitope and Diche are proof that we don’t need to walk this road alone. We need more women standing together, partnering, building, and lifting each other up. We need more women betting on themselves. We need more women taking ownership of their success.
This International Women’s Day, the message is clear: Start now. Push forward. Take action. Success isn’t waiting for you—it’s yours to claim.
