NDDC holds retreat, promises greater devt in Niger Delta

The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has assured the region of more development projects.

In their separate speeches at a board and management retreat of the commission in Lagos with the theme: “Repositioning NDDC for Efficient Service Delivery”

Chairman of the Commission , Barrister Chiedu Ebie and the Managing Director, Dr Sam Ogbuku said the commission will continue to deliver on its mandate to the Niger Delta region.

Media aide to the Chairman of the commission, Mr Jerome-Mario Utomi in a statement on the retreat made available to the Vanguard said his boss , Mr Ebie in his paper titled “Steering a Course Towards Greater Impact ‘, assured the Commission will remain guided by the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu in its drive to bring accelerated development to the Niger Delta region.

Ebie said : “This retreat provides an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between Board Members and Management, ensuring that our shared vision translates into effective service delivery.

“By working together, we can enhance NDDC’s efficiency, accountability, and overall impact.

“We remain guided by the clarion call of the Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, as we align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda. The eight presidential priorities encompassing food security, poverty eradication, job creation, and the fight against corruption serve as our roadmap toward a brighter and more prosperous Niger Delta.

“This year, we must turn vision into action, and strategy into measurable results.

“This retreat is our opportunity to address these challenges, learn from our experiences, refine our strategies, and set an ambitious yet achievable course for the NDDC.

“Let us use this time to strengthen relationships, foster a culture of unity, and reaffirm our shared mission to deliver sustainable development, improve lives, and instill a renewed sense of hope in the people of the Niger Delta”.

Utomi said the NDDC’s MD, Ogbuku in his remarks expressed optimism that with the unity of purpose the commission would achieve a lot.

“Together we can navigate the course towards a brighter future for the Niger Delta, where sustainable development and efficient service delivery are the cornerstones of our progress”, Ogbuku said.
