The Ex-Niger Delta Agitators Forum for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed strong support for former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi.
In a statement issued after its stakeholders’ meeting held on Saturday, July 5, 2026, in Apata, Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State, the group highlighted Amaechi’s contributions and growing influence within the political space.
The statement was signed by its National Chairman, Gen. Ojuemi Oweikeme, Gen. Markson Isere (Secretary), and Comrade Daniel Ezekiel Perela (National Spokesperson).
The forum noted that Amaechi has demonstrated significant political experience and leadership, particularly through strategic engagements that are said to be reshaping conversations within the ADC and across Southern Nigeria.
They stated that his continued relevance has attracted attention from various quarters, and urged Nigerians to focus on issues of national development rather than distractions.
The group said: “Nigerians should disregard politically motivated propaganda and remain focused on supporting the Atiku/Amaechi ticket, which offers practical solutions to Nigeria’s pressing challenges in the areas of security, economic recovery, infrastructure development and national unity.”
The forum reaffirmed its commitment to mobilising support for the ADC across the Niger Delta region and other parts of the country.
It further resolved to continue backing Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, describing him as a leader whose experience remains valuable to the nation’s political landscape.
The group emphasised the need for peaceful political engagement and called on its members to stay focused on promoting good governance and unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The statement was adopted unanimously during the meeting hosted by the Western Zonal Coordinator, Gen. Godswil Nanakuro.
