Comrade Abideen Ejiogbe, the Oyo State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), has called for strict adherence to judicial rulings concerning the leadership of the union.

In a press release dated January 10, titled “A Call For Justice – Re: Brazen Disregard For The Rule Of Law”, Ejiogbe emphasized the need for respect for the rule of law and union constitution.

The statement, made available to Vanguard, addressed recent comments attributed to certain individuals referred to as “Southwest council chairmen” of the NURTW.

Ejiogbe questioned their legitimacy and expressed concern over their support for ongoing disputes within the union.

“We wish to condemn in very strong terms, the recent actions of the so-called southwest council chairmen, who have shamelessly defended the undue and unwarranted interference in the affairs of NURTW”, he said.

Highlighting the judiciary’s favorable ruling on the union’s leadership, Ejiogbe reiterated the NURTW’s commitment to due process and democratic principles.

He emphasized the importance of respecting court decisions to ensure peace, unity, and proper administration within the organization.

The statement concluded with an appeal to union members to remain calm and focused, urging stakeholders to prioritize the interests of members over external influences.

Ejiogbe also called on all parties involved to honor the court’s decisions to foster stability and progress within the NURTW.
