CIHRSM inducts new members, reaffirms commitment to excellence in HR practices

The Chartered Institute of Human Resources and Strategic Management (CIHRSM) recently held its annual conference which focused on Standardization, Compliance and Regulatory Framework in Human Resources Management as well as induction of new members in Lagos, Nigeria.

The event brought together HR professionals from across the country, providing a platform for networking, learning and celebration.The induction ceremony was a momentous occasion, as many new members joined the association after meeting all necessary requirements.

In his remarks, the Registrar/CEO, Dr Minna Abell emphasized the importance of standardization, compliance and regulatory frameworks in HR management.

Minna noted that the theme of the conference was apt, as it aligned with the ongoing National Standardization Policy Initiative of the Federal Government having Dr Minna Onomroba Abell as one of the National Technical Committee Member/National Mirror Committee member with Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON).

He said: “This initiative aims to harmonize and standardize human resources management practices in Nigeria, in line with global best practices.

Minna also highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting the HR profession and emphasized the critical role HR plays in achieving national development goals. He further encouraged HR professionals to continue striving for excellence and to work together to promote best practices in HR management.

The keynote speaker, Kenneth Ikenwa, a lecturer at the University of Lagos, challenged the audience to think about how HR can stay ahead of the curve on regulations while still encouraging creativity and innovation.

Sam Orovwuje, a Council member of institute who represented the President in his speech, outlined the institute’s mission and the important role HR professionals play in organizations and in nationaldevelopment.

He said,”CIHRSM and its mandate is very clear as we are committed to supporting all our members and poised to promoting excellence in HR practices across Nigeria.”
