At the core of pure femininity are qualities like affection, honesty, grace, sensuality, and vulnerability. These attributes are some of the most potent tools in Guchi’s songwriting arsenal, as evidenced in her four-year-deep discography.
Guchi has consistently leaned on these strengths to maintain her hit-making status, and her latest song , “No Touching,” is another proof of her effective formula. “No Touching,” reflects Guchi’s healing journey, catalyzed by her partner’s support.
She expresses her gratitude to her fans with lyrics like “I for don give up on love but I got you, me I no go take your heart put am for potopoto”. While her declaration is bold and clear, she also addresses her concerns. Will affection endure if sexual intimacy is withheld? Alternatively, Guchi might be questioning her lover’s faithfulness. Will this relationship survive without the interference of a third party?
Tuzi’s production of “No Touching” is a subtle yet powerful mid-tempo arrangement that complements Guchi’s melody without overshadowing it. The track maintains a plucky bounce reminiscent of 2010s dancehall, making “No Touching” both no danceable and a strong performance piece.
