SOKOTO: Stakeholders at an interaction session held on Friday at International conferences center Kasarawa said they will not engaged in the plan nationwide plan protest scheduled to hold on the Isr of August. Adding that anyone whi engaged in the act is at his own peril.

Governor Ahmed Aliyu while addresing the mammoth crowd of stakeholders that cut across traditional, rulers, civil servants, resident communities, Students Assiciations, Labour Unuins and non Givernmental organizations held at Kasarawa International Conference said the state is against anything that would disturbed public peace and wanton distruction of public properties.

He said considering the fragile nature of the national security, the plan protest would only jeopardized continue fight agaist insecurity and other challenges facing Nigeria and our dear state.

“Sokoto state has been up and doing in the provision of essential and social amenities, especially the provision of mass transit program, Provision of incentives to civil servants, distribution of grains, restoration of monthly cash allocation, provision of fertilizer free to farmers, free allocation of grains to Ulamas and less privilege as well as .

” Sokoto people are against the plan protest and anybody who engage in the act is doing so at his own peril “

He called on citizens to exercise caution and consider alternative means of expressing their grievances, as the country prepares for planned protests against economic hardship and pervasive hunger.

He further warned that the protests, scheduled to commence on August the Ist, could likely be hijacked by miscreants, leading to chaos and violence, as seen in the past end SARS protest.

” We need peaceful solutions, urging the government to address the pressing concerns of Nigerians, including the high cost of governance, kidnappings, banditry, and mass killings”.

“My administration will cinntinue to expedite action in the implementation of the newly approved national minimum wage, to provide immediate relief to all categories of civil servants in the atate.

“The importance of dialogue, and town hall meetings are viable alternatives to protests, to avart disturbance of public peace.”

“Peaceful protests are a powerful tool for civic engagement, allowing the populace to communicate their concerns and hold leaders accountable. However, the anxiety related to the impending protests is heightening, especially given the volatile experiences in countries like Kenya ,Pakistan, Egypt and Libiya”

“We urge all Nigerians to consider alternative means of expressing their grievances. Dialogue, petitions, and town hall meetings are viable options that can yield positive results without the risk of disorder.

“We call on the government to cut the cost of governance and expedite its efforts to alleviate the hardships in the land. The government must implement the newly approved national minimum wage to provide immediate relief to struggling families.

” We are taking Specific measures to put an end to kidnappings, banditry, and mass killings that have plagued various parts of our state.”
