Dr. Kayode Olushola Fasua is the immediate Past President of the Rotary Club of Jos Central. A distinguished leader and dedicated humanitarian, Fasua has made significant impacts in the nation and beyond. Under his leadership, the Rotary Club of Jos Central achieved remarkable successes, winning unprecedented numerous Rotary International District, Zonal and Regional awards for their outstanding humanitarian services. A Paul Harris Fellow and Major Donor to Rotary Foundation, Fasua has received numerous awards for his service to humanity, including the Rotary International Presidential Citation. He is a true embodiment of the Rotary spirit, inspiring others to make positive differences. With his passion for service and commitment to excellence, Fasua is a respected and beloved figure in his community. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN). In this interview, Fasua speaks on his tenure as Rotary Club of Jos Central President among other issues. Excerpts:
What was your vision for the Rotary Club of Jos Central when you took over as President?
I envisioned breaking the glass ceiling of success for our club, and, with God’s help, we achieved this. We laid a strong foundation early despite uncertainty and we were eager to bring smiles to the faces of the less privileged.
What were the challenges you faced during your tenure?
Traveling weekly from Abuja to Jos for our Monday meetings was challenging, but my determination and the support of our great Board and Club members made it possible.
What are some of the achievements of your club during your tenure?
We gained 29 new members, executed 18 service projects, and won over 13 District Awards. We also earned the Rotary International Presidential Citation and were recognized as the Best Club in Zone 4, 2nd Best Club in District 9125, and Best Club in Plateau State.
How did you manage to achieve so much during your tenure?
I believe it was due to my passion for service to humanity, my commitment to excellence in leadership and professionalism, and the support of our great Board and Club members.
What legacy did you leave behind?
I hope to be remembered as a leader who made a positive impact in the lives of others and inspired others to do the same.
What advice do you have for future leaders?
I advise them to be determined, committed, and passionate about making a difference in their communities.
How do you feel about the recognition you have received?
I am humbled and grateful for the recognition, but I believe that the true reward is the positive impact we have made in the lives of others.
Can you tell us about your background and experience?
I am an accountant by profession and have held numerous leadership positions in Rotary and beyond. I am a recipient of over 75 awards, laurels, and recognitions both locally and globally.
What drives you to continue serving humanity?
I derive joy in touching lives positively no matter the circumstances. I am an image maker and strive in the business of grooming people to greatness.
What are your hobbies and interests?
I enjoy traveling, reading, writing, exercising, driving, listening to good music, and making positive impacts.
How do you balance your personal and professional life?
I am happily married with amazing kids and living life with core values, good relationships, and the fear of God.
What message do you have for Rotarians and friends?
I urge them to continue setting the pace in service to humanity, dedicatedly and with focus on being the best with resounding success.
