Minna—Two persons have been reportedly killed in Minna, Niger State capital during a free-for-all in Maitumbi area of the state.
The deaths were as a result of a clash between two rival gang groups in the area, yesterday.
During the clash, dangerous weapons such as daggers, cutlasses, bottles and sticks were freely used.
Vangauard gathered that property, including cars, motorcycles, tricycles, shops among others were destroyed by the ravaging youths. They also vandalised and looted property and snatched phones, money and other valuable from their victims.
Some residents in the area have started fleeing their residences for relatives and friends’ houses in different areas for safety.
Already, the police have confirmed the arrest of six suspects in connection with the violence.
The state police command Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, while confirming the incident, told journalists that some people have been arrested.
“Two persons were killed and six suspects have already been arrested in connection with the incident. We are also making efforts to apprehend other suspects,” the PPRO said.
