A Growing Digital Economy

Africa stands on the cusp of a digital revolution, with a burgeoning demand for tech skills among its youth and businesses. By 2030, it’s anticipated that 50-55% of jobs in Kenya and 35-45% in Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, and Rwanda will require digital skills. Yet, the continent faces challenges in attracting and retaining skilled tech workers, particularly in cybersecurity and data analytics.

Africa’s digital economy is projected to reach $180 billion by 2025. Globally, young people are increasingly seeking tech skills to prepare for future jobs. A World Economic Forum survey found that education and skills are top priorities for 40% of over 700,000 respondents. Despite this demand, a UNICEF report indicates that nearly three-quarters of youth in 92 countries lack the skills needed for employment. This is where Oyebola comes into play.

A Vision for “Dream Africa”

In this landscape of opportunity and challenge, initiatives like Platform Universal play a crucial role. By equipping young Africans — over 10,000 and counting—with essential digital skills, such efforts are pivotal in transforming aspirations into realities. Thus, Oyebola’s work exemplifies the potential to harness Africa’s youthful energy to bridge the digital divide and foster economic growth.

Today, the techpreneur is on a mission that extends beyond individual success stories. She is working diligently with her team and global partners to launch Africa’s largest network of next-generation leaders, aptly named “Dream Africa.” This initiative aims to cultivate a new wave of innovators among other leadership spectrum ready to tackle challenges and create opportunities across the continent.

Indeed, her journey is not just about building a platform; it’s about igniting a movement. Her unwavering dedication serves as an inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs everywhere, proving that with passion, collaboration, and vision, dreams can indeed become reality.

By addressing these needs —paving the way for future tech leaders— Oyebola is helping individuals and businesses unlock new pathways for innovation, job creation, and economic inclusion. She stands as a testament to the power of perseverance and the impact of community-driven initiatives in shaping a brighter future for Africa and beyond.
