*Almost 200 Nigerian scholars transformed through life-changing scholarships

On a momentous day filled with hope and inspiration, the International Scholarship Initiative (ISI) celebrated the fifth year anniversary of its scholarship program, honoring the 2023 cohort of scholarship recipients. The event which was held recently brought together esteemed guests, media representatives, and beneficiaries who shared their remarkable journeys.
ISI, known for its commitment to advancing education and empowering individuals, has provided scholarships to nearly 200 Nigerians over the past four years. These scholarships have transformed lives, offering recipients the opportunity to pursue higher education and excel in their chosen fields.
The moderator of the event, Olufemi Fajuolu, expressed gratitude to the attendees and emphasized the significant impact of ISI scholarships on the lives of Nigerian students. With the introduction of the new cohort, consisting of 70 students, ISI continues its mission of providing comprehensive support to deserving scholars.
Representatives from the Lagos State Scholarships Board, an esteemed partner organization, were also present, lending their support to the event. Notably, the gathering included distinguished members of the media.
Highlighting the vision and dedication of ISI, a video message from the organization’s president was broadcasted. The president emphasized the transformative power of scholarships, narrating their personal journey of receiving a scholarship during their own education. ISI remains committed to building an innovative society and providing opportunities for motivated individuals to change their career trajectories.
Acknowledging the challenges faced in 2020 due to various factors, ISI successfully sponsored a considerable number of scholars, ranging from 25% to 46%. The recognition of the scholars’ achievements underscores the significance of being awarded an ISI scholarship.
In addition to the scholarships, ISI actively seeks media partners to amplify its mission. Through collaborations with reputable news organizations, ISI aims to raise awareness and garner support for its initiatives. The organization envisions a society where individuals contribute to the growth and development of their communities.
Mrs. Temitope Ewerihido, a beneficiary-turned-partner, shared her journey and emphasized the invaluable role ISI played in her life. The event also featured Hannatu, who oversees ISI operations, highlighting the progress made since January and expressing gratitude to all those involved.
Habib Muhammad, an ISI scholar, described the program as a game-changer, citing the opening of training opportunities at prestigious institutions. Cecilia Ezenaya, a student currently benefitting from ISI’s support, shared her personal experience and praised the organization for its multifaceted assistance.
Esther Oloyede, a 2019 ISI scholar, emphasized the organization’s commitment to continuous support, mentoring, and nurturing students’ growth. ISI instills a mindset of readiness and encourages scholars to pay it forward by helping others, fostering a culture of support and collaboration.
Mrs. Ademola concluded the event, reaffirming ISI’s dedication to identifying and assisting deserving students, providing ongoing mentorship, and cultivating enduring relationships. The organization’s goal is to create an environment where individuals thrive and succeed, both in Nigeria and beyond.
