Sandra Chukwudozie bags WIME award on solar energy initiative

A Nigerian female entrepreneur and the CEO of Salpha Energy, Sandra Chukwudozie has bagged the Outstanding Woman in Energy Award for her innovative solar home solutions in Nigeria’s poorest communities.

The awards organized by the Women in Maritime and Energy, (WIME) in partnership with the United Nations women as well as the Guardian woman was held at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, recently.

The award which seeks to recognize the sterling achievements of women across the Maritime and Energy business as well as encourage accelerated women’s participation in both industries had in attendance scores of the industry’s top notch female executives.

These include Nigerian billionaire businesswoman and philanthropist, Folorunsho Alakija who also clinched a Lifetime Achievement Award and Ms. Beatrice Eyong, UN Women Country Representative to Nigeria and ECOWAS who delivered the keynote address among other eminent personalities.

Women in Energy and Maritime Awards is an initiative created to extol the brilliant contributions of leading Female Professionals and CEO’s in the Maritime Industry and across the entire value chain of the Energy sector as well as their male counterparts.

Reacting to the awards, Sandra said the recognition would further propel her determination for noteworthy accomplishments and a prosperous renewable energy business throughout Nigeria.

She and her team of “ALPHAS” are carving a niche for themselves, with innovative solar home solutions that were designed to meet the energy needs of specific tiers of the population beginning with the furthest behind.

Sandra is recognized as a trailblazing female leader in the renewable energy sector who has made a significant contribution to the industry by promoting innovation, demonstrating its importance, and managing a profitable renewable energy business.

When Forbes Africa announced its list of 30 Under-30 trailblazers for 2022, the trailblazer and courageous Sandra Chukwudozie stood out from the pack. She has also won other prestigious awards.
