Senator Iyiola Omisore’s pivotal role in Tinubu’s electoral victory

By Olushola Innocent

Victory is sweet and at the attainment of victory, everyone associates with the victor. Whether they played significant roles in the process or not, success endears all to us.But this is not the case of President elect- Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore.

Little wonder, he was very comfortable with the choice of Omisore as National Secretary. The President elect- knew his capacity, he was well aware of his doggedness and commitments to any course he chooses.

Senator Omisore hails from the famous royal family dynasty with longed political heritage in Osun state, which has given him robust political and social leverage; birthing a relationship with Tinubu which goes back several decades. This relationship was further consolidated because of kinship. The President-Elect is from Osun State even though politically he claims Lagos.

True to it, Omisore has succeded in stabilising the Party. He has ensured due process and has as a matter of principle, ensured evenness with the distributions of offices and appointments.

Omisore would be a go-to -man in the affairs of the country before and after the swearing in of the President elect-. He has demonstrated the zest and the willpower to articulate his views and would be a resource person in the next administration.

Omisore at different fora has always spoken glowingly of the viability of the nation’s economy.  He has always attracted investments at his different levels of services in the past.

With the Victory of Asiwaju, Senator Omisore is at the vantage position not only as a party stalwart but as a friend and brother to the President elect-to assist him in navigating the runnings of the country.

On Saturday March 11 2023. Senator Omisore will again galvanise the party’s machinery to deliver the gubernatorial elections. His ingenuity and man -management skills will be required to record yet another resounding victory for the APC.

This victory recorded nationwide didn’t come through by chance but a product of painstaking strategies, political networks and sheer determination of party faithful to deliver electorally for all the candidates of the party.

Omisore has been a force to be reckoned with. His grassroots appeal in his home state and with friends across the divides will again be activated.

So many attributes distinguishes him. He is a modest fellow who hardly seek attention and like civil servant, he prefers to be anonymous. He is a catalyst and a propeller that has worked assiduously in interfacing with all the organs of the party, ensuring its efficiencies and the go-to man with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

His administrative skills and tenacity of purpose finally yielded the desired results and alongside his National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the duo’s leadership cannot be dismissed when history is revisited as one of the few who led their parties to  national election victories.

Senator Omisore is a silent achiever. He understands the workings of party politics. He has brought his wealth of experience to bare in the management of the party’s activities. He has ensured that everyone is carried along and has shown maturity in the day to day runnings of the APC.

Gratefully, the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed , during his acceptance speech, praised the administrative acumen of Senator Omisore and singled him out among others for his commitment and inputs to the victory of the party at the February 25 polls.

While Nigerians and the party revels in the recent victory of Senator Bola Tinubu, a special thought should be spared for a former Deputy governor of Osun State, a distinguished Senator and a true party man to the core, Senator Iyiola Omisore.
