Two BSU best graduands get N2m scholarship

The Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) in conjuction with the Eunice Spring of Life Foundation (ESLF) have presented N1million cheques to each of the two graduating students of the Benue State University, BSU, Makurdi for coming out tops in their course of study.

The two recipients are Benjamin Agbidye who had a 4.78 CGPA and Theresa Ayua who scored 4.74 in microbiology.

Presenting the duo to Governor Samuel Ortom in Makurdi for the  presentation of the awards, the Managing Director of BIPC, Dr. Alex Adum said the scholarship was initiated to reward excellence among students in the University.

Adum explained that “the award is meant to encourage hard work among students and provide an opportunity for them to pursue masters degree programmes.

“It was also started to give Benue youths the opportunity to actualize their potentials. Already we have also rewarded the overall best students in the West African Examination (WAEC) for the 2021 and 2022 session.”

The Managing Director praised the resilience of the two students and asked them to put in more efforts in their future studies.

Governor Ortom who lauded the company’s initiative and support for the outstanding students said it would no doubt impact the lives of the beneficiaries.

Expressing their gratitude, the two recipients said the money would help them pursue their masters degree programmmes.
