Uvwie Patriotic Front, UPF, a socio-political group in Ekpan, has called on the people to vote massively for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for the Uvwie State constituency in Delta State in the March 11, governorship and states assembly elections, Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata.

The group said Ighrakpata’s exemplary performance and care for the downtrodden in the constituency have endeared him to the people. 

In a statement by the UPF’s coordinator, Evans Efetobore, described the PDP candidate as a grass root politician who has performed creditably well since his election as a state lawmaker. 

“His magnanimity has touched the lives of both the low and high in the entire nooks and crannies of the constituency. He should be re-elected to finish and add more substance to the good works he has started.” 

Efetobore commended Ighrakpata’s leadership style saying that his unblemished integrity and uncommon humility coupled with his uncommon selfless giving, especially to the downtrodden in the constituency are what endears him to the people.

“Ighrakpata maintains a relationship with both the low and high and had made personal sacrifices to change the misfortune of many underprivileged in Uvwie Constituency. He is never a proud man, ever so humble and approachable. As Deputy Chief Whip, he was not a bench warmer, as he initiated many bills and chaired most of the committees of the House.

“It would be noted that in 2020, during the COVID-19-induced lockdown, Hon. Ighrakpata did not abandon his people, as he gave generously to them to cushion the effect of the lockdown.”

He noted that the House-to-House campaign for Solomon Ighrakpata in the constituency started last month was already yielding results as the indigenes of the constituency have vowed to re-elect Ighrakpata.

Also, all the markets in the constituency have been visited by the group with resounding reception by the market women who sang praises of the honourable.
