The Lagos State Chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN is set to explore on societal transformation as part of “The Greater Nigeria Project”.

Meanwhile, the fellowship said it would host a One-Day Conference with the theme: “A New Dawn- Revival &Transformation:  Taking Responsibility for Societal Transformation” on October 7, 2022 at Vineyard Christian Ministries, Ajao Estate.

Speaking a media briefing, Chairman, PFN Lagos State, Apostle Eyinnaya Okwuonu, said that the conference would create a fresh orientation among Christians in the state and provide an opportunity for business owners and professionals to access divine resources that will enable them to discover new opportunities and create sustainable Pan-Africa businesses and societies.

Okwuonu said: “The fallout from the Post COVID-19 Pandemic, includes despondency, poverty, and hopelessness, initiated an opportunity for the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) to rally the Pentecostal Leaders to new actions and directions that will mature the saints of God and revive the body of Christ under his leadership. He decided to launch this initiative “The Greater Nigeria Project” one of his Ten-point agenda for the PFN body after his appointment to this highly exalted position. This Project took off in Akwa Ibom on the 10th& 11thof August 2021 and has gone round a few States.

“The COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war has affected the business environment astronomically and particularly the global supply chain. Therefore, the need for divine intervention, partnership and innovation is an urgent critical success factor. In this session, Business owner and Professionals shall access divine resources and providence that will enable them to discover new opportunities and create sustainable Pan-Africa businesses.

“The project was conceived and birthed by our national President, Bishop Francis Wale-Oke and he has been going round the country including Abuja to talk about the Great Nigeria Project.  The concept of the GNP is simply a believe that Nigeria is a great country in spite of what is happening and it can become manifest as a great nation that it is, and that the church has a major role to play in birthing that new Nigeria, that is why it is called Greater Nigeria Project.

“Wale Oke would be in Lagos where all Pentecostal are expected to participate, Lagos alone has over eight million Pentecostals, we would have leaders come and listen to the national leader on how we can build a greater Nigeria. The Lagos PFN would have their own concept called the new dawn, how PFN and the church should be, it is part of the GNP,” Okwuonu said.

Also speaking, Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Greater Nigeria Project, Pastor Olumide Olugbenle, said that there would be three sections all in one day.

He said: “We are taking responsibility for societal transformation, so we are seeing a new dawn in Lagos and we are taking responsibility for societal transformation and the apostolic visit is coming to seal it and announce it. We are inviting all stakeholders in Lagos to celebrate and proclaim the new dawn and cause it to ripple all over the state.

“We are expecting about 12 thousand to physically gather at Vineyard Christian Ministries and at least five thousand to join online. We are looking at 20 thousands eyes and heads to participate on the 7 of October,” he said.
