Former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Modu Ali Sheriff yesterday took pride of his role in the trouncing of his former party by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in the presidential and National Assembly elections.
Sheriff, now a chieftain of the APC said on Monday that Borno State has fulfilled its promise of delivering most of the votes cast during the Saturday General Election in favour of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Mr. Sheriff, a former governor of Borno State spoke to journalists at the venue of the presidential collation center in Maiduguri.
The former Senator said he led a separate campaign, aside the state campaign council of the APC to ensure that the President gets a second term.
Mr. Sheriff said the state has not only delivered maximum votes for the president but also won all the senatorial and House of Representatives seat for the ruling APC. Among those who won the National Assembly elections is the outgoing governor of the state, Senator-Elect, Kashim Shettima who ironically Sheriff had been at odds with.
