Nigerians have continued to react to an alleged threat by the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association who, on Tuesday, threatened to force the Senate President Bukola Saraki, out of office if he fails to resign his position immediately.

From Middle: The National President of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) flanked by the National Secretary, Alhaji Baba Ngelzarma, and other members of the association at a press briefing on the position of the association to stem farmers-herdsmen clashes in Abuja on Sunday.
The Nigerians who took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter to condemn the alleged threat wondered how the herders’ association intends to do such an act they described as assault on the country’s democracy and hate speech.
Recall that the national coordinator of the association in Benue State, Alhaji Garus Gololo, had given the warning in an interview with newsmen in Makurdi on Tuesday.
Miyetti Allah had threatened Saraki saying, it was “tired of Saraki’s style of leadership at the National Assembly” and because it “is looking for a leader that would preside over the affairs of the Senate with ultimate respect for the executive and the judiciary,” then Saraki must resign or it would remove him from office.
“Miyetti Allah is looking for a leader that would preside over the affairs of the Senate with ultimate respect for the executive and the judiciary, not someone like Senator Saraki that would always scheme to outdo the Presidency.
“We are now tired of Saraki’s style of leadership at the National Assembly. Therefore, we are now warning him to honourably resign his position as president of the Senate or we will force him out,” the association was quoted saying.
However, Nigerians have condemned the threat, wondering whether the Miyetti Allah association is an arm of the government that can even remove an elected Senate president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
