YENAGOA—A CANCER foundation is to be set up in memory of late Mrs Goldcoast Dickson, mother of Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State who recently died of cancer.

The foundation when established is to screen people and create greater awareness on the dangers associated with the scourge among others.

Dickson disclosed this, yesterday, at his country home at Toru-Orua in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state, when members of the state executive council led by the Deputy Governor, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John-Jonah (retd), paid him a condolence visit  over the death of his 72 years old mother, popularly called Mama Gogo.

Dickson in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Francis Agbo, said that friends and other well-meaning individuals would be invited to support the worthy cause.

Dickson, who said he lost his mother to cancer, expressed sadness over her demise, noting that she was his confidant, whose supportive role particularly in his upbringing and political life would remain indelible.
