The headmistress, HM Loral International Boarding Nursery and Primary school, Igbese Mrs Christiana Oraka has lamented the deplorable state of Agbara/Igbese road as major one of the major challenges facing the citadel of learning.

Speaking exclusively to Vanguard, the headmistress on the occasion of the school’s 40th anniversary and the celebration of “ family day” explained that the school’s which has continued to be a leading light in the education sector and a benchmark for molding the intellectual, physical, emotional and social well being of the pupils in recent years has being faced with lost of pupils, including foreigners who desired their wards attend Loral.

“Loral International school started in 1978 with the commencement of Nursery and Primary Schools Day, Festac Town. While the Nursery and Primary Schools, Day and Boarding started here in Igbese in 2002. However, the commencement of Basic education in Igbese has continued to garner people from all walks of life, including foreigners based on the facilities we have on ground and the curriculum we run which of global standard.

“ For instance, our boarding facilities carter for toddlers from age three. We get referrals constantly. However, our major setback is the road from Agbara leading to the school. It is such in a deplorable state. “lamented Mrs Oraka.

Calling on the Ogun state government to urgently fixed the road, Loral Basic Headmistress said, “ We need government to not only come to our aid, but to the aid of people leaving here. As inability to repair this road account for lots of intellectual, physical and economical investments. “she said.

Mrs Oraka who extolled the importance of the school’s family day said the event was to create mutual bond among the pupils, parents and the school community. “ The family day is so important to us as parents and pupils play, laugh and share things in common. The moments shared is our little way of promoting mutual love, respect and trust among the pupils, teachers and parents.

“ We display various activities such as cultural display, games, drama and songs presentation etc. and above all, we call a guest speaker to speak on the virtues of having a wonderful family.” noted  the school coordinator.

Some of the parents that expressed joy at the performance of their children included Mrs Kehinde Odukoya; Mr Odigwe Oluwaseyi . While Miss Harrison Blessing, a primary school pupil and one of the graduating students said, “My stay at Loral has taught me to stand tall, equipped me with skills and moral to achieve greatness. “ she said.
