VOTING in some polling units have been concluded as voters await the sorting and counting of the ballot papers.
Areas such as Oye, Ilupeju Ekiti and majority of polling units in Ire Ekiti have concluded voting.
Vanguard observed that voters are still loitering around their polling units to prevent any form of irregularities.
Senator Arise alleges multiple voting
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Ayo Arise alleged multiple voting in his area even as he called on the Independent National Electoral Committee, INEC, to address the lapse.
He said this at his Ward 002, polling unit 004, Arise alleged that “Right now, there are two or
three boys who have done multiple voting, their finger prints have been registered.”
Lamenting that the security agents have been unable to arrest those alleged to engaged in multiple voting, he said: “None of the boys engaged in the multiple exercise have been arrested.
The Police have not been able to arrest them because they don’t have guns This is my family house, if that is done, my mother will start shouting.”
Expressing optimism of his party winning the elections, Arise said: ”I believe we will win, regardless of the deceit, regardless of the lies. The civil servants have not been paid salaries, pensioners have not received their pensions, why should they vote for such a person? I believe they have seen the light and they will do the right thing.”\
