A Non Governmental Organisation, Youth New Club, formerly Youth Network for Change, in conjunction with BAA Foundation, recently graduated over 400 Nigerians with different entrepreneurial skills through its skill acquisition and empowerment programme, SAEP, in Lagos.

The programme in its second edition which had as its theme, “Empowering the Youths through SAEP”, is aimed at eradicating poverty and creating employment opportunity for Nigerian youth.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony, the coordinator, Akande Akinbode Emmanuel said: “The aims of our organization are to eradicate unemployment and create employment. We train people to become employers of labour as a way of eradicating poverty. The NGO is non partisan, we don’t have any political affiliation or funded by any political party. We fund all our projects and activities from contributions and donations made by members.

“In the first edition, we had 1,000 trainees on 12 different skills that graduated. But this year we have over 400 trainees that are graduating today. We train and empower them as well as assist them in accessing funds or soft loans from the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) as we are partnering with the Lagos State Government.”
