ABUJA – The striking Joint Health Sector Workers, JOHESU, on Wednesday directed all its members in states and local governments to join the industrial action.
The directive was announced by the National President of the union, Comrade Biobelemonye Joy Josiah, at a press conference in Abuja.
According to him, the directive, billed to take effect nationwide from midnight of Wednesday 9th May 2018, was sequel to another deadlocked meeting between JOHESU and the federal government delegation led by the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige.
He blamed the government for not showing any seriousness to meet the demands of the union for adjustment of the CONHESS salary structure which affects over 95 percent of the health workforce nationwide.
